Wolverine Game Set for PlayStation Comeback

A highly anticipated return since 2021: After an absence of four years since its initial reveal in 2021, Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine appears to be ready for a comeback. Sources from Insider Gaming have confirmed that a new trailer for the game might be presented during the upcoming State of Play event scheduled for the end of September.

New Trailer Release Date: Sources have indicated that the production of the new trailer has already been completed, making its appearance at State of Play highly probable. Should it not be showcased at the event, it is expected to be revealed in the coming months, with The Game Awards 2025 being a strong contender to host it.

Development Challenges: The game’s development journey has not been without its obstacles. In December 2023, Insomniac Games experienced a significant cyberattack, leading to the leak of gameplay footage and sensitive project information. This incident forced the team to implement certain changes to development plans, though the full extent of their impact on the final product remains unknown.

PS5 Exclusive: A formal release date has not yet been announced, but it is confirmed that the game will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, poised to be one of the platform’s most significant upcoming titles.

What Else for the Event? Reports suggest that the upcoming State of Play episode could feature additional surprises alongside Wolverine, such as:

  • Bungie’s game Marathon.
  • The game Phantom Blade 0.
  • A new project in the God of War series with a Metroidvania style.
  • The game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet from Naughty Dog.
  • An extended showcase of the game Ghost of Yotei before its release on October 2, 2025.

Great Anticipation from Players: Fans of both Marvel and PlayStation are eagerly awaiting this new reveal, especially given that Wolverine is one of the most beloved characters in the superhero universe.
